Why some weight loss goals don’t work.
By blogadmin | May 19, 2010
I have achieved some goals and not others. I can now sit back and tell you the very reasons why I didn’t achieve some goals. The biggest reason of all – the goals weren’t really true to my heart (at that time). Weight loss is a big one (all puns intended). There have been times of my life that I have lost some of the weight that I have struggled with since birth. I can pin point the reasons. Once it was to show an ex-lover just how great I was, once was because my mum sent me to Jenny Craig, once was because I was depressed after a breakup and once was because I thought it would help me keep a partner……were any of those reasons really true to me – NO!!!
Over the last couple of years I have lost weight, put on a little bit and am now losing again. Why, this time? Well I started because I wanted to encourage myself and my sister to do exercise. I couldn’t afford the personal training so dropped out. Now the reasons are solely mine.
- I want to stay free from Type 2 diabetes
- I want to stay free from heart disease
- I want to live a long, healthy and happy life
- I want more energy
- I want to play everything with my daughter (not just the easy things)
- I want to start sailing again
- I want to walk into ANY shop and buy clothes
- I want to fit back into all my gorgeous shoes
All of these reasons are now about ME. Yeah, finally. You would have thought I could figure it out before 36.
Anyway, now I am following the 10 Steps to Achieving Your Goals that I have previously followed when I have actually achieved goals.
